COMPANY HISTORY:
Established
1985 as Harold Read & Associates Pty Ltd, providing coal
petrographic analyses to Coal Testing Laboratories in New South Wales and
Queensland.
Coal & Organic Petrology Services Pty Ltd (COPS) established 2004 to
expand the range of skills and services available to include organic petrology
relevant tooil & gas exploration;
and to offer consultancy advice regarding the use and interpretation of
petrographic analyses, in particular maceral analysis and vitrinite reflectance,
in coal, oil & gas exploration; coal& coke preparation and product quality monitoring.
The
Taren Point laboratory is equipped for maceral analysis, vitrinite reflectance
analysis,spectral fluorescence
analysis, automated reflectance/image analysis, general microscopy/petrography.
Appropriate
ISO and Australian Standards are followed. Staff are encouraged to join and
particiate in exercises with the International Committee for Coal and Organic
Petrology (ICCP); currently five of our staff have ICCP Accreditation.
